Rebranding a gaming company that takes you to Another Place
Founded in 2012, Another Place is a London-based mobile game developer, formed by some of the key people behind the Xbox Fable franchise. The team is backed by top gaming VCs, including Initial Capital and Connect Ventures.
To launch their new flagship game Battlehand, Another Place required a rebrand that could match the high production values and strong art direction of their games.
• Our Input
The team view gaming as a chance to escape to 'another place'. We wanted to reflect this in the logotype, playing on the concept of the logo as a portal. It became obvious that the team's unique character art style required a bespoke lettering style to match. Once we landed on the right metaphor we teamed up with Rob Clarke, to evolve the lettering to work with the team's artistic style; this was then cropped and displayed in a range of bright colours.
Battlehand is now available in the AppStore and Google Play, and has been selected as Editor's Choice by Apple. Battlehand continues to receive features and its frequent updates are enjoyed by a loyal gamer base.

A word from Jeremie
“After working on several generations of Fable, we wanted to take the escapist magic mobile, where it could be enjoyed by a larger audience. We craft worlds and characters players can relate to, and easily interact with in short chunks on their phones and tablets.”
After deciding on the most unique metaphor to convey ‘Another Place’, bespoke lettering was created in collaboration with Rob Clarke
